OUR IMPACT
IN THE UK
General Dynamics Land Systems has been a trusted partner to the UK for more than 60 years, investing in people, skills, communities and industry. Through our support for the Armed Forces community, investment in education and employment, and contribution to local economies, we are helping to create opportunities and build a stronger future for Wales and across the country.
We have also played a key role in revitalising the UK’s sovereign land systems industrial base, helping to reverse decades of decline and strengthen the nation’s position as a world leader in armoured vehicle design, manufacturing and support.
SOCIAL IMPACT
Creating social value is at the heart of how we do business. We are committed to supporting the people and communities in which we live and work.
We have been a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant since 2011 and hold a Gold Award in the Ministry of Defence’s Defence Employer Recognition Scheme, recognising our commitment to reservists, veterans and the wider Armed Forces community.
Our charitable partnerships include the Army Benevolent Fund, Gurkha Welfare Trust, Combat Stress, SSAFA, Llamau and the Coalfields Regeneration Trust, helping us deliver meaningful impact where it matters most.
COMMITTED TO OUR COMMUNITIES
Since establishing our presence in the UK in 1962, we have invested in local talent, infrastructure and education, helping to create sustainable opportunities for future generations.
Through our partnerships with colleges, we help develop highly skilled professionals across Wales and the wider UK. Our apprenticeship and graduate programmes create clear pathways into rewarding careers, supporting a resilient workforce equipped to meet future challenges.
This long-term investment in people has strengthened capabilities across engineering, manufacturing and programme management, while helping to ensure Wales remains the home of UK armoured vehicle design, development, production and support, underpinned by a nationwide network of SME suppliers.
Reservists, Veterans and Cadets
One in ten General Dynamics UK employees are veterans, reflecting our strong connection to the Armed Forces community.
Reservists and veterans bring valuable leadership, resilience, teamwork and problem-solving skills that strengthen our business every day. Through our Veterans Network, site visits and STEM engagement activities, we also support cadets and local communities, helping to inspire the next generation.
